This is the image that appeared on Google today (Sept. 5, 2009). Now I know that google will periodically change their logo on holidays and anniversaries, but this particular caught my and the world's attention. Why? Because if you click on this image, it automatically takes you to the results page for the search "unexplained phenomenon". Why would google be doing this? Are they trying to tell us something? Probably not. According to an article I read, this is a little joke of Google's creation. The article, or a comment on the article, said that they recently installed this new "base", giving the town where Google is headquartered free internet. Also, on Google's twitter page, they said this as a clue to what the picture means: 1.12.12 25.15.21.18 15 1.18.5 2.5.12.15.14.7 20.15 21.19 ,which translates (from numbers to letters, where A=1 and B=2, etc) to "All your O are belong to us", a reference to "All your base are belong to us", a line from a poorly translated Japanese video game called Zero Wing. Puzzle solved. Resources: | |
